FLUKE ZINE #7 USA

Hey! estoy de vuelta, esta vez para presentarles el zine FLUKE # 7 desde los Estados Unidos, recibi el zine por el correo y me tome un tiempo en hacer la reseña luego de unas buenas vacaciones por Paraguay, pero aki estoy para hacer la continuacion de los habituales comentarios de zines...
Ya con una larga trayectoria en la escena punk (aproximadamente 18 años)...en este numero nos cuentan un poco sobre lo que pasa en este entorno y tambien dentro de su ciudad Little Rock. Para comenzar, es un zine con formato de "revista", vendido a 1 dolar americano. Un fanzine fuera de lo comun y fuera de lo habitual, ya que como dije, relata el dia a dia de los que forman la escena...
Me gusto la manera con que realiza sus entrevistas, parecia como si fueran preguntas que salen naturalmente sin tener nada pre-hecho, haciendote sentir dentro de la misma entrevista.
En la primera conversacion nos presentan a KEVIN KERBY guitarrista (de las bandas hohum, mulehead) contandonos sobre la escena y su vida en Little Rock asi como tambien sus pensamientos sobre bandas.
Continuando en las siguientes paginas nos encontramos con los pensamientos de Shane "manimal" halvorson, mas o menos lo que entendi es que cuenta su dia a dia, sus emociones, sus decepciones etc etc... no quiero ser mala con el tipo, pero parece nerd (segun las fotos), (la verdad que parece mas bien un compilado de pensamientos escritos para twitter :S ) jajaja esta bien, es simpatico.
Hojeando encontramos lo que Stevie D un punk rocker en Glass Heroes de Phoenix, nos comenta sobre su fanatismo por RAMONES desde sus comienzos, y suerte de el que los vio 8 veces, mucha gente querria ser el en estos momentos, hasta el triste dia que muere Dee Dee el 6 de junio del 2002, comentandonos un poco como fue ese dia para el.
Tambien vemos una entrevista con Mike Watt, para el que no sabe, fue bajista en MINUTEMAN y guitarrista en D. boon, asi como tambien participo en FIREHOSE y tocado con J. Mascis, Perry Farrel, e Iggy POP
que es el punk rock para vos "it`s not a style of music, it`s a state of mind." como la ves?, entre otras preguntas y respuestas contestadas por el.
Continuando Mark "Sledge" howe, un tipo de la escena en little rock, nos comparte su crecimiento en la escena punk, desde los comienzos de los 90`s hasta su entrada a las fuerzas armadas de USA, tengo que decir esto, como no vivo dentro de esa escena, ni vivo en ese pais, me parece bien conocer lo que los que pasa por detras del escenario... lo que pasa y lo que paso, no hay nada mejor que un poco de historia, que no tuve oportunidad de participar, pero bueno, esta escrito y lo comparten con nosotros, dentro de esta entrevista nos muestran fotos desde sus tours con Econochrist de los 90`s, algunas fotos de los 80`s y algunas fotos de sus estadias en IRAQ...
Para terminar el zine nos dejan con una pequeña historia y aventuras por Andrew D`arezzo, esposa y amigo por los territorios mexicanos... "entre el desierto y el mar" (PARTE 1)
En este zine no creo que encuentres tantos clichés con respecto al punk... o tanta politica que te aburra, para empezar no encontre ninguna entrevista a bandas en si, pero si a PERSONAS pq que es la escena sin las personas que lo forman parte?
Bueno me voy yendo...

Hey! I'm back and I bring you the zine Fluke #7 from the U.S. I got this zine by mail and I took a while to review it after my vacations in Paraguay, but I'm here now to continue with the zines.

After being around in the punk scene for about 18 years, in this number it talks about 'Little Rock city'. The zine has a magazine format, sells for one American dollar; a very original zine and commenting about the day by day of the people who are part of the zine. I like the way the author interview the bands, like if questions that just came out of the heart without having anything prepare, giving the reader a feeling that he or she is inside the zine.

In the first interview, we get to know guitarrist Kevin Kerby from Hohum and Mulehead explaining about the scene and the life in Little Rock city, as well giving some thoughts about his band. Flipping the pages, we get to know the thoughts of Shane 'manimal' Hlvorson, and from what I understood is that he tells about his day by day life cycle, his emotions, his deceptions and so on. I don't want sound mean, but it sounds like Manimal is a nerd (at least in the pictures), jajajaja but it's alright, I find it funny.

As you keep reading the following article, Stevie D a punk rocker from Glass Heroes, Phoenix tells us about his fanatism about the Ramones, from their beginnings, and how lucky he's been to see them 8 times, and even the death of Dee Dee in June 6th, 2002, explaining how he felt on that day.

The zine also brings us an interview with Mike Watt; for the ones that do not know him - he was the bass player for Minuteman and guitarrist for D. Boon, as well as participating in Firehose and played with J. Mascis, Perry Farrel, and Iggy Pop. What is punk rock for you?, "it's not a style of music, it's a state of mind", how do you see it?, and many other similar questions in between being answered by him.

Continuing with Mark 'Sledge' Howe, a guy from the Little Rock city, shares his views in the punk scene, from the rise of the movement in the 90's till he joined the army in the U.S. I have to say, since I dont live in their scene and neither live in that county, I enjoy knowing what's really happening behind the lyrics. How it happen and how, there's nothing better knowing a little history, since I did not had a chance to participate, but oh well, it's written and they share it with us. Inside the zine we can see numerous pictures from their tours with Econochirst in the 90's and also some pictures from the 80's and some from when he was in Iraq.

Finishing off, the zine closes with a little story and aventures by Andrew D'Arezzo, wife and friend from the mexican territories "Between the desert and the ocean - Part 1".

In this zine I don't think you would find many cliches asociated with Punk, or with borring politics. I could not find a single interview with the bands, but with People who lived, still lives, and formed the scene. Well, I'm out
